While Parisians tend to think they are very avantgarde, they can at times be very backward, praticularely when it comes to etiquette. Once you get over what might seem to be snobism however, you will be able to see the country's charm and beauty.
Venturing into France's countryside and the South will not only enchant you but you will also meet a lot of welcoming and convivial people. The French are very proud of their culture and learning a little bit about how things are done will bring you a long way.
